Not an AYCE hot pot place but still so good! I liked their sauce bar that also has desserts and other salty items. They give you a bib and bag to cover your stuff. Food quality is good and service is attentive. Waitlist can take a long time but I can see why since it's a great spot for hotpot in the Boston area.
When I say you had to ROLL me out of this place, I mean it. My cousin and I were in town and decided to come here after a day of shopping and sightseeing cause we were getting to the point of being hangry. It literally hit the spot and was all we could ask for and more! There was a small wait when we got there, but we were on our feet the entire day so 40 minutes was totally okay for us. While waiting, we were already given the iPad to choose our meats, veggies, and other items we wanted for our hot pot. We had decided to get the house specials, spicy and non-spicy, and loaded up on the meats. We were definitely thinking with our tummies and not our minds cause it was just a lot. If you want variety, they for sure have it! We got the beef & lamb platter WITH the deluxe beef platter, and let's just say that was probably better suited for a group of 4-6 instead of 2. Anyway, it was all delicious, and both soup bases were flavorful and properly seasoned. Not too oily either for those who were wondering. The serving staff were also on point. Usually in places like these with so many people and large parties, smaller groups may get lost in the mix, but we were always offered water here and there and asked if we wanted anything else to add. A small thing to point out that I personally appreciated, was that we were handed plastic bags to place our outerwear/bags in so that they wouldn't have that "hotpot" smell afterwards. It really did make a difference! We also didn't realize this was a chain restaurant, so we'll definitely be checking out the one in Houston soon!

Liuyishou Hotpot was one of the first bigger hotpot chains from China (specifically Chongqing) to arrive in Boston's Chinatown! It replaced the old McDonald's that once was here. They offer a la carte hotpot at Liuyishou! When they first opened a few years ago, I thought they were pricier compared to other hotpot places in Chinatown BUT nowadays the prices seem fair since everything went up. I'd say hot pot here is worth getting if you want a more elevated experience from Hotpot Buffet, Shabu Zen, Happy Lamb, etc. Their meat cuts are great & everything is super fresh here, whenever I visit. I enjoy getting two broths: pork bone broth & premium spicy beef tallow. For meats, I opt for the fantastic beef & sheep platter, fresh fish fillet, supreme beef, and mussels. For vegetables, I like to get napa. Normally, I prefer tongho but they don't offer that here. Staff is nice & attentive. I highly recommend if you're looking for a good spot to get some hotpot if you're in Boston's Chinatown! Parking: it's Chinatown so the street parking spot are hard to come by but depends on time of day. During lunch time it's not so bad. There are a bunch of garages around & a large lot in the middle of Tyler St & Harrison Ave.
Nice place, food is good. Lius house special spicy soup base was really spicy for me, we weren't able to drink the soup we just use it as a dipper to cook some of the items. Service is fast. I like the ice cream dessert and the sweet coconut pearl soup. Parking is $10 at the next door building, just show the parking ticket and pay at the restaurant before you leave. Ambiance is okay, the place is nice but in my opinion could be a little cleaner.
This was our first time out to a hot pot restaurant, and I'm already thinking of going back! We had so much fun. When we arrived, we were given an iPad to select what we wanted to eat. This was great because by the time we were seated, our food arrived to the table super quickly. We ordered the pork broth soup base which was delicious. The more it boiled, the better the flavor became. I was confused by the tomatoes and cucumbers in the soup, but honestly it made it look pretty! To go along with the soup, we ordered veggies (corn, enoki mushrooms, bok choy), some noodles, fish fillet, and a meat platter with beef tongue and another meat (i forgot what it was). I wasn't a huge fan of the fish, but everything else in the broth was great! It was lots of fun dipping the meat into the boiling soup and watching it cook quickly. We also got some rice to eat with the meat. Something that I also enjoyed was the sauce buffet, which Ive seen in videos of people eating at different hot pot places. I was excited to finally try it on my own. They had such a variety of ingredients and bases for the sauce, it was honestly hard to choose! There were also spring rolls and pig ears which was awesome to eat before our food arrived. After eating our fill of hot soup, the one thing I crave is a cold dessert. This place has you covered with their soft serve ice cream machine, and small dessert buffet with sago, boba, and fruits. Overall, this was a great experience and next time I definitely want to try other flavors of broth and different meat! TL;DR: try the house pork soup base if you are new to hot pot, it has a great flavor that pairs well with all meats and add ons. Make a sauce at the buffet to add more flavor to your food. To round out your meal, treat yourself to some ice cream! Yum.
Wife and her work team came here for team dinner. Hope it was good, I did catch a glimpse inside, passing through earlier in the day. Has combo for 1 between lunch and 4:00pm I think. Well Maybe next time.
Popular hotspot joint on the edge of Chinatown and tufts medical. We came on a Saturday as a party of 2 on a late afternoon, because we knew how popular this place is, and were able to get a seat right away. We did half spicy and half mushroom based broths, got a meat combo, Napa cabbage, bak Choi, and potato noodles. The broth is excellent, the blending they do here is really reminiscent of the top tier hot pots in Beijing. Meat quality is great and the prices is reasonable with their portions. They have this little sauce bar that also has an assortment of other appetizers that functions like buffet-AYCE-style, that's maybe $5/person. Meaning you could pick up an unlimited of their little chicken wings, sesame balls, pickled radishes, amongst other small bites. They have a little soft serve machine too! tldr; fancy hot pot place that has top tier broths and unlimited sauce/appetizer bar
Plan ahead and make a reservation since they're always packed. It's very lively and good for family meals. They have many meat options as well as a wide selection of tofu and veg. We got one spicy and one no spicy broth. There is something for everyone The sauce bar is extra but well worth it. There's fruit and icecream included.
Been wanting to come here for quite some time now but every time we try to come, there is a line. Of course, that only drove us more to wanting to come here. Location wise. This is very convenient, as it is very close to the theater distric. Their service was good, the staff were very prompt to help, and they both speak Mandarin and Chinese English perfectly, so there's no need to feel worried about not being able to speak with the staff. Additionally, the menus are on iPads, so there are pictures and descriptions of items for you to select and order. We went during lunch, so there was a special that's going on Monday through Friday for the luncheon. Period for two people. The cost is roughly $60 which includes the all you can eat appetizer station, and dessert bar. When ordering your broth to cook your meat in, you have a wide selection to chose from. Best of all you can select two and they will provide it in a pot that's divided in half so you can enjoy both broths. Overall, the presentation is beautiful when it's brought to your table. The meats look and vegetables are fresh, with beautiful marbling on the meats, and it's everything you would expect from a high-end hot pot restaurant. The one drawback is the selections they offer for the appetizer station. A lot of it seems very cheap and very oily, with a lot of the chili oils on it. So really nothing you'd be interested in eating too much of. I'm a sucker for ice cream where I can always find room for a big bowl of it. The soft serve was the best way to end the meal.
